We know that our optician, Anthony Rebello, The Novel Eye, 1 West Main St, North Kingstown, RI, #401 251-2309,
will cut your prescription lenses into our frames, right in the open in his wonderful shop, but I cannot always guarantee the skills/actions of other opticians.
We provide a list of recommended opticians for your convenience. Sometimes they are more helpful if you remove the lenses (that is the hardest part in which they risk breaking the frames.)
The opticians on this list have been recommended by our customers, have previously cut lenses into our frames
or have agreed to fit lenses into other people’s/our frames when contacted by me. The ones that say ‘ask for’ are opticians I have spoken to over the phone when looking for people to recommend. I have never had anyone turn me down so if you can’t find someone close enough to you on this list just go online and look up best opticians or puts lenses in vintage frames (on Yelp) in your area and then try calling them first just to make sure their policy hasn’t changed before going.
Don’t bother with chains or big box opticals, unless you have checked. Recently I have had a Walmart optician and a BJ’s optician tell me that they will put lenses into your frame for a small additional charge but their lens prices probably make up for that.
